specifically and ideally C89 and C99 why ? there is no other language that will work anywhere, everywhere. and you can write your own compiler. most importantly, - it compiles fast! it is simple, gets out of your way, mistakes made in it are completely your fault. i tried rust, way too complicated like c++, way too slow to compile. way too much disk usage. i tried odin, great language btw. okayish compile times, but the community is small, and i dont know if i should bet on odin or the similar jai. i like c++, but i hate the std library and the code eventually turns into an unreadable mess. i shouldn't have to discipline myself to not use some feature of the language. i looked into zig, i want zig to get to v1. which is probably never. and I cant bet on it now, since every release will break my code. but i'm optimistic about zig. And thats it. The best one is C.
